Tasting Note:  Serica by Domaine de Vedilhan, Vin de Pays d’Oc 2007 A red blend, Serica by Domaine de Vedilhan is 90% Syrah with 10% Viognier.  As an aromatic white grape, Viognier brings out all the perfumed notes in the Syrah, giving a fragrant nose of blackcurrant, menthol and a warm hint of charred cinder toffee hiding underneath.  Juicy, concentrated blackcurrant fruit dominate the medium-bodied palate, with savoury notes of toasted herbs.  Perfectly pleasant but the finish is somewhat lacking, failing to pull through the flavours displayed on the palate.
